Product Description
309s stainless steel rod is austenitic free-cutting stainless and wear-resistant acid steel. Production process Free-cutting steel can be smelted in various steelmaking furnaces, but low-carbon sulfur free-cutting steel should be smelted in a converter. The alloying of sulfur is carried out by adding sulfur or iron sulfide to the ladle or molten pool. Ferromanganese is suitable for low silicon and low carbon. If there is no special requirement, the silicon content in the steel should be reduced as much as possible to improve the machinability of the steel, and sufficient deoxidation should be carried out to prevent hairline. Harmful gases such as sulfur and lead generated in the smelting process must be removed with powerful ventilation devices and treated with facilities for preventing and controlling environmental pollution. When the sulfur content in free-cutting steel is high, there will be a tendency of hot brittleness, which is unfavorable for hot working, so attention should be paid. When cold working, we strive to have precise dimensions and good surface quality to improve the cutting performance on automatic machine tools.
