2205 dual-phase steel pipe combines the most beneficial properties of ferrite and austenite,
and has good resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking.
It is a duplex stainless steel composed of 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy.
The yield strength is twice that of austenitic stainless steels,
a feature that allows designers to reduce weight when designing products, giving this alloy an advantage over 316, 317L.
